at Streets of Willow - Willow Springs Raceway
November 27-28, 1999
Perfect is the word of the weekend. Weather was perfect. Schedule throughout the
event was perfect. Safety was perfect. Amount of cars was perfect. Track time
was perfect. Time trials went perfect. And fun was perfect.
As the mandatory drivers' meeting went smoothly, the first run group roared up
to warm the track for the first time of the day. As one group after another
anxiously ran through the morning practice, the Speed Options group turtled
their way to the location late. Better late than never.
The amount of track time was unbelievable. One of our Subaru drivers reported at
the end of Saturday practice day, 105 track miles. That is more than 58 laps.
Then on Sunday, he reported 75 track miles. That is more than 41 laps. Although
Sunday we had much less cars, time trials take up much of the time.
In all, we ended the last event of the year, century, and millennium with a
bang. Thanks to all our sponsors and tech inspection stations for such an
awesome year. And we are excited for the future. With continuous support from
all our loyal racer fans and sponsors, we have high hopes to expand together.
